Iran Consulate Shares Baahubali Clip After Pezeshkian UNGA Speech: ‘We Will Never Bow Our Heads’
What do Iran’s message at the United Nations and Baahubali have in common? The Iranian Consulate in Hyderabad offered an unexpected answer by sharing a clip from Prabhas-starrer Baahubali: The Beginning after Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s address at the United Nations General Assembly.
The consulate shared a video featuring one of the film’s most iconic battle sequences, in which Amarendra Baahubali, played by Prabhas, leads his forces against the Kalakeya army. The scene was used to underline Pezeshkian’s message that Iran would stand firm in the face of pressure.
Iranian Consulate Shares Baahubali Clip
The video features the dramatic battle sequence from S.S. Rajamouli’s 2015 film, with Baahubali refusing to back down despite facing a powerful enemy.
Sharing the clip, the Iranian Consulate wrote: “Iranian President Dr. Pezeshkian at UNGA: ‘We will never bow our heads or kneel down.’”
The post quickly drew attention online because of the unusual use of an Indian film scene to convey a geopolitical message.
Internet Reacts To Iran’s Baahubali Reference
Several users on X reacted with amusement and surprise to the consulate’s post.
One user wrote, “The Iranian social media game is much better than other nation state.”
Another posted, “I never expected Iran’s consulate doing Bahubali edits 😭😭.”
A third user noted the unusual connection between the Baahubali reference and the ongoing geopolitical tensions, writing, “Baahubali movie reference in Geopolitics amidst current Iran-US war.”
Another user joked, “Babe wake up, Iran hyderabad has started posting bangers for some reason.”
What Did Pezeshkian Say At The UN?
The social media post followed Pezeshkian’s address at the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 23.
His speech came against the backdrop of continuing tensions between Iran and the United States. Pezeshkian rejected the idea that sanctions, threats or external pressure could force Iran to surrender its position.
He said such pressure would instead strengthen the determination of the Iranian people.
His remarks came a day after US President Donald Trump addressed the UNGA and spoke about Iran. Pezeshkian’s speech focused on Iran’s response to external pressure and the broader tensions between Tehran and Washington.
About Baahubali: The Beginning
Baahubali: The Beginning, directed by S.S. Rajamouli, was released in 2015 and starred Prabhas as Shivudu, a young man who gradually discovers his family’s history and his connection to the kingdom of Mahishmati.
The film also featured Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan and Sathyaraj in key roles.
The Telugu epic became a major pan-India success and was followed by Baahubali 2: The Conclusion in 2017. The sequel continued the story of Amarendra Baahubali and brought the two-part saga to its conclusion.
