Air Suvidha Form mandatory for all international arrivals in India: Here’s how to fill it
India has made the Air Suvidha Self-Declaration Form mandatory for all international passengers arriving in the country, including Indian citizens, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders and foreign nationals.
The requirement comes amid heightened health surveillance following the Ebola outbreak in parts of Africa. Passengers must submit the online health declaration before arrival, irrespective of their nationality, country of departure or previous travel history.
The Bureau of Immigration has reiterated that the form is compulsory and not optional. Travellers have been advised to complete the declaration before boarding their flights to avoid delays during arrival formalities at Indian airports. The online form can be submitted up to 24 hours before arrival in India.
Why has India made the Air Suvidha form mandatory?
The government reintroduced the upgraded Air Suvidha 2.0 portal on June 25, 2026, to strengthen health surveillance at international airports.
The move follows the Ebola/Bundibugyo virus disease outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. The World Health Organisation declared the outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on May 17, 2026.
The digital platform has been developed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation in collaboration with Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) and the Directorate General of Health Services.
It enables passenger information to be shared with airport health officials, the Bureau of Immigration and disease surveillance authorities. This helps identify travellers who may require additional medical assessment or health assistance after arriving in India.
Who needs to fill out the Air Suvidha form?
The requirement applies to all international passengers arriving in India. These include:
- Indian passport holders returning from overseas.
- Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders.
- Foreign nationals travelling to India.
- Passengers arriving from countries that have not reported Ebola cases.
- Travellers with international transit stops.
Importantly, passengers do not need to have visited an Ebola-affected country to be covered by the requirement. The declaration is mandatory regardless of travel history.
When should passengers submit the Air Suvidha form?
Passengers can complete the Air Suvidha Self-Declaration Form up to 24 hours before arriving in India.
The government has advised travellers to submit it before boarding their flight, preferably during web check-in. Once the form is submitted, passengers should download the acknowledgement and keep it accessible throughout their journey.
At the airport, they may be asked to show the acknowledgement at the International Travel Health Desk or immigration counter.

Providing complete and accurate information can help passengers avoid unnecessary complications during arrival clearance.
Will passengers undergo medical screening after arrival?
Submitting the Air Suvidha form does not automatically mean that every passenger will undergo a medical examination or be placed under quarantine.
However, airport health officials may conduct additional screening depending on the information provided in the declaration, travel history and health condition of the passenger.
Travellers who report relevant symptoms or possible exposure may be referred for further medical assessment by the Airport Health Officer.
The system is designed to help authorities identify potentially at-risk passengers and coordinate an appropriate public health response.
Is the Air Suvidha form free?
Yes. The Air Suvidha 2.0 Self-Declaration Form is completely free of charge.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation has warned passengers about fraudulent websites impersonating the official portal and demanding payments for submitting the declaration.
Travellers should use only the government’s official website:
https://airsuvidha.civilaviation.gov.in/
No payment is required to complete or submit the form.
What happens if passengers do not fill out the form?
Since the declaration is mandatory, passengers should complete it before travelling to India. Those who arrive without submitting the form may face additional difficulties during arrival formalities and should follow instructions from airport officials.
To avoid last-minute problems, travellers are advised to complete the declaration during web check-in, download the acknowledgement and keep it readily available.
The government has introduced the digital declaration as part of its efforts to strengthen health screening at international entry points while making the arrival process more efficient and contactless.
