UP teacher accused of burning 5-year-old’s private parts with hot knife over toilet incident
A nursery teacher at a private school in Varanasi has been booked after allegedly branding a five-year-old boy’s private parts with a hot knife for urinating in his pants after reportedly being denied permission to use the washroom.
Police registered an FIR against the teacher, the school principal and the management on July 25 based on a complaint filed by the child’s father. The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on July 24 when the child sought permission to use the washroom during class. After the request was allegedly denied, he urinated in his pants. The father alleged that the teacher then beat the child, took him to another room and branded his private parts with a heated knife.
Police said CCTV footage and the school’s DVR have been seized for examination, while the school’s kitchen has also been inspected as part of the investigation. Officers are questioning staff members and reviewing the evidence.
The child has undergone a medical examination, and police said the investigation has been expedited. Officials said the medical findings and CCTV footage will be crucial in establishing the sequence of events.
