Kriti Sanon Reveals Why She Didn’t Do a Bikini Scene Until Cocktail 2

Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon has opened up about why she waited nearly 12 years into her film career before appearing in a bikini scene. Speaking at the NDTV World Summit 2026, the actress said the decision was not just about fitness or appearance, but also about feeling comfortable in her own body.

Kriti, who made her Bollywood debut with Heropanti in 2014, said she would not have felt ready to do such a scene six to eight years ago. Over time, however, her confidence and perspective changed, allowing her to embrace the moment in Cocktail 2.

‘You Have to Be Comfortable in Your Own Skin’

Discussing her glamorous role in Cocktail 2, Kriti explained that the scene arrived at the right stage of her life.

“I did a bikini scene after 12 years. For a scene like that, more than fitness, you have to be comfortable in your own skin,” she said at the summit.

The actress added that she had never worn a bikini before the film. According to her, the thought of doing the scene several years earlier would have made her uncomfortable.

Kriti said she had grown and evolved with time and was now more comfortable with her body. She also revealed that she now feels comfortable wearing a bikini at the beach, highlighting how her personal outlook has changed over the years.

Kriti Sanon Says She Is Her Own Biggest Critic

During the conversation, Kriti also spoke about the scrutiny actors face over their appearance and performances. She said she tends to judge herself more critically than others do and is most concerned about whether she has given her best.

The actress explained that while public opinion is inevitable, her own satisfaction with her work matters greatly to her. Her comments offered insight into how confidence and self-acceptance have evolved throughout her career.

Anaita Shroff Adajania Reminded Her of Her Early Days

Kriti also recalled working with celebrity stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania, who styled her for Raabta and later collaborated with her on Cocktail 2.

Remembering her early days in the industry, Kriti said she used to feel shy about wearing certain outfits. When Anaita first brought her clothes for Raabta, the actress recalled asking what she could wear over them, reflecting her discomfort with some styles at the time.
