Dubai tourist visa in 48 hours: New fast-track service for Indians; eligibility, fees and application process
Last-minute travel to Dubai may have just become a lot easier. Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has introduced a fast-track processing service for tourist visas, with approvals promised within 48 working hours of a completed application.
The move is expected to benefit Indian travellers in particular, offering a quicker route for spontaneous holidays, business visits, family trips and urgent travel requirements.
Faster processing, same tourist visa
The new service is not a separate visa category but an accelerated processing option for Dubai’s existing single-entry tourist visas.
Travellers can choose between:
- 30-day single-entry visa: approximately ₹19,000
- 60-day single-entry visa: approximately ₹29,000
The visa is strictly intended for tourism and leisure purposes and cannot be used for employment or academic activities.
Authorities say some applicants have even received approvals within a few hours of submitting all required documents, significantly faster than the official 48-hour timeline.
Eligibility and required documents
Indian passport holders can apply before travelling through official digital platforms or authorised travel agencies.
Applicants will need:
- A passport valid for at least six months
- A recent passport-sized photograph
- A government-issued identity document such as an Aadhaar card, PAN card or driving licence
- Any additional documents requested by authorities
Officials have stressed that applications will only be processed after all mandatory documents have been uploaded. Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed.
How to apply
Indian travellers can submit applications through:
- The official GDRFA Dubai online portal
- The GDRFA DXB mobile application
- Authorised travel agencies and tourism offices
The process involves selecting the preferred visa duration, uploading the required documents, completing personal information, paying the applicable fee and tracking the application status online.
Beware of fake fast-track visa offers
As demand for quicker visa approvals grows, UAE authorities have warned travellers against fraudulent agents and unofficial fast-track visa schemes.
Applicants are advised to use only official GDRFA platforms or verified Dubai-approved travel agencies. Any offer promising unusually fast approvals through unofficial channels should be treated with caution.
With processing times reduced to as little as 48 working hours, the new service could make Dubai an even more attractive option for Indian travellers looking to plan a trip at short notice.
