Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has addressed criticism surrounding the song ‘Teri Sexy Beauty’ from his upcoming patriotic film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace, explaining why the track fits into the film’s narrative. At the film’s trailer launch on Friday, the actor said audiences would understand the song’s placement once they watched the complete movie.

The film, which faced several delays before finally securing December 4 as its release date, reportedly required additional time to complete its visual effects. Salman said he wanted to ensure that audiences received a high-quality cinematic experience rather than complain about unfinished or poorly executed VFX.

The song ‘Teri Sexy Beauty’, released a few days before the trailer launch, had sparked debate on social media, with several viewers questioning how a romantic or celebratory track could fit into a patriotic film.

Salman Khan Explains Why ‘Teri Sexy Beauty’ Fits the Film

At the trailer launch, when actress Chitrangda Singh joined him on stage, Salman introduced her by referring to the song and calling her his “sexy beauty”.

Addressing the criticism, the actor explained that the song appears in a particular situation involving the film’s characters, who portray soldiers.

“I know a lot of people are wondering that Maatrubhumi mein ‘Teri Sexy Beauty’ kaise fit hota hai? Hai na? Sabka sawaal yehi hai, na? When you see the film is when you’ll find out how this song fits into the narrative,” Salman said.

He further explained that he plays a soldier in the film, as do the other actors, and the song features a moment when the characters praise their wives.

“Yeh sab apni wife ki taareef karte hain. And that’s where this song plays,” he added.

Salman suggested that the promotional material released so far does not reveal the complete context of the film’s songs and sequences.

‘You Will Understand Where Each Song Appears’

The actor also addressed questions about the number of songs released ahead of the film’s theatrical debut.

He explained that the promotional songs offer only limited glimpses of the actual movie and that their placement would become clear once audiences watched the complete story.

“Jab aap picture dekhoge, yeh visuals bahut hi kam hone waale hain. You might feel that we have released some 1,400 songs of the film to date! There’s a reason for it,” Salman said.

He added that viewers would understand where each song appears in the narrative after watching the film.

The actor indicated that the filmmakers could not reveal the situations surrounding certain songs before the movie’s release without giving away important elements of the story.

Salman Takes a Dig at Music Channels Over Song Promotions

In a lighter moment, Salman joked about music channels and digital platforms uploading complete film songs to attract subscribers and increase views.

He said that audiences often become familiar with songs before watching a movie, which can reduce their interest in watching those sequences in theatres.

Recalling the experience, he joked that viewers sometimes decide to leave their seats for a cigarette or a bathroom break when a familiar song appears on screen.

“There are music channels that put the whole song of the film on their page to increase their subscribers and for views. Then when you go to see the film in cinemas, you feel, ‘Arre yeh gaana toh dekh liya hain. Let’s go to pee or to smoke’!” he said.

Salman added humorously that he did not want audiences to get such an opportunity during the screening.

“I don’t want you to give the chance to take these breaks. Samjhe? Control karke baitho aap,” he joked.

Salman Khan Praises Chitrangda Singh’s Performance

Apart from discussing the film’s music, Salman also praised Chitrangda Singh for her performance, particularly in the final 25 minutes of the movie.

The actor said the filmmakers wanted someone who could genuinely feel the emotions of the character rather than simply perform them.

“The reason why we wanted to cast her is that the last 25 minutes are all helmed by her performance. We wanted somebody to feel it and not perform it,” Salman said.

He also surprised Chitrangda and the audience by announcing that she would be seen alongside him again in his next film.

Referring to their on-screen pairing, Salman said, “Aur iss jodi ke baare mein aap sab ko kuch batana chahunga. Yeh jodi phir se aayegi.”

His announcement has generated curiosity about the next project featuring the two actors.

Maatrubhumi Set for December 4 Release

Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace has attracted attention for its patriotic theme, Salman Khan’s presence and the discussions surrounding its music and visual effects.

The film experienced several delays before its December 4 release date was finalised, with VFX work cited as a major reason for the postponement.

At the trailer launch, Salman reiterated that delivering a satisfying theatrical experience remained a priority.

With the film’s promotional campaign gathering momentum, audiences will now be watching to see how its songs, including the much-discussed ‘Teri Sexy Beauty’, fit into the larger story.
