Police on Sunday carried out a reconstruction of the alleged murder sequence at Maharashtra’s Lohagad Fort with Pune-based realtor Ketan Vishal Agarwal’s fiancée Siya Goyal, as part of the investigation into his death.

Pune Rural Police said the exercise was conducted to verify the version of events provided by the accused, including the route taken, positions of those involved and the circumstances surrounding Agarwal’s fall from the fort on June 18.

Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill said investigators recreated the entire chain of events, including the movement of the accused, their location at the spot and the alleged actions leading up to the incident.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Gajanan Tompe said police also used a dummy weighing the same as Ketan Agarwal to understand how the incident may have unfolded.

Officials said the reconstruction was aimed at checking the claims made by the accused and gathering clarity on the exact circumstances that led to Agarwal’s death. Investigators are also examining evidence, digital records, movements of the accused and the alleged motive behind the crime.

Agarwal, 25, was a director in his family-owned Success Group, a major warehouse developer in Maharashtra. He got engaged to Siya Goyal, 20, in February and the couple was scheduled to marry later this year.

Police said Agarwal died after falling from Lohagad Fort on June 18. Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, 22, were arrested and booked under murder and criminal conspiracy charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

During the investigation, police alleged that Siya had told them she did not want to marry Agarwal and had planned the crime with Chetan. Police are continuing to verify the evidence collected and the events before and after the incident.
