FIR Against Abhijeet Dipke for Entering Maharashtra Government School: What Are the Charges Against Him?
Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) convenor Abhijeet Dipke and party worker Ajinkya Shinde have been booked in Maharashtra’s Latur for allegedly entering a government school without permission and disrupting official work.
An FIR was registered at Ausa police station following a complaint by Sayyed Shamshadbano Khairatali, 53, a teacher at the Zilla Parishad Urdu school in Jawali near Ausa.
What are the charges against Dipke?
Dipke and the other accused have been booked under several provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 132 for allegedly assaulting or using criminal force against a public servant, Section 329(3) for house trespass, Section 351(2) for criminal intimidation and Section 356(2) for criminal defamation.
According to the FIR, Dipke and his associates entered the school premises without permission, interacted with students and questioned teachers about the condition of the school. The complaint alleged that their actions obstructed educational and government work.
Dipke also allegedly recorded videos of the visit and interactions with students and uploaded them on social media.
The complaint further alleged that Dipke sought to defame the school by claiming that students from another school had been brought in and made to sit in classrooms during his visit. He also allegedly threatened to have teachers suspended.
What is CJP’s ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign?
The incident comes amid the CJP’s nationwide ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign, launched on August 15 to highlight and seek improvements in infrastructure and facilities at government schools.
The campaign began in Dipke’s native village in Hingoli and has since taken CJP members to government schools in several states. The campaign has also faced resistance at some locations.
A CJP team was allegedly attacked while visiting a government school in Jaipur’s Rampura Kanwarpura on Friday.
In Mumbai, the civic education department has barred CJP volunteers from entering municipal schools without prior permission.
