The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is set to stage its second major protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Saturday, intensifying its campaign against examination paper leaks and student suicides.

Ahead of the demonstration, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke urged supporters to bring “plates and spoons” as the Gen Z-led group continues its protests over issues affecting students. The protest is scheduled to begin at 1 pm and is expected to draw participation from students from Delhi and neighbouring states.

In a video shared by the organisation, Dipke appealed to supporters to carry a ‘thali’ (plate) and ‘chamach’ (spoon), referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2020 appeal during the COVID-19 pandemic when citizens were encouraged to clap and bang utensils from their balconies.

“All the cockroaches joining tomorrow’s protest at Jantar Mantar should carry a thali and a chamach with you. You know the rest of the story,” Dipke said.

The protest comes after Dipke wrote an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, raising concerns over student deaths linked to examination controversies and demanding government action.

In the letter, he demanded ₹1 crore compensation for families of students who died by suicide, claiming that 11 students had lost their lives in recent weeks.

“I am writing to you today with a heavy heart, to bring your urgent attention to an escalating crisis that threatens the future of our nation — the lives and mental well-being of our young students,” Dipke wrote.

He also called for the removal of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, saying accountability was needed over the issue.

The CJP founder said the group had been demanding the education minister’s resignation and had been holding protests across the country, adding that students were seeking accountability for the loss of lives.
