Asian Games 2026 India Results , Day 7: Second Gold In Shooting; Satwik-Chirag Suffer Shock Exit

The seventh day of the 2026 Asian Games began on a strong note for India, with the contingent adding to its medal tally across shooting, table tennis, squash and kabaddi.

The biggest highlight came in shooting, where India secured its second gold medal of the Games. Kamaljeet and Suruchi Inder Singh held their nerve in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event to finish on top.

India also assured itself of medals in table tennis and squash. Divya Chitale and Manush Shah reached the mixed doubles semifinals, while Joshna Chinappa and Velavan Senthilkumar booked their place in the squash mixed doubles semifinals after defeating the Philippines’ David Pelino and Jemyca Aribado.

Shooting

• Kamaljeet and Suruchi Inder Singh finished first in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team qualification before going on to win gold.
• APS Tomar, Rudrankksh Patil and Niraj Kumar won silver in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions team event.

Table Tennis

• Divya Chitale and Manush Shah defeated Hong Kong’s Wong Chun Ting and Doo Hoi Kem in the mixed doubles quarterfinals to assure India of a medal.
• Manush Shah defeated Iran’s Benyamin Faraji 4-0. He won the opening game 11-9 before taking the next three 11-6, 11-6, 11-5.
• Sreeja Akula and Syndrela Das lost 0-3 to Man Kuai and Wang Manyu in the women’s doubles quarterfinals, going down 6-11, 7-11, 7-11.
• Yashaswini Ghorpade and Divya Chitale lost 0-3 to China’s Yi Chen and Shuhan Fan, 7-11, 5-11, 8-11.
• Harmeet Desai and Yashaswini Ghorpade lost to China’s Lin Shidong and Kuai Man in the mixed doubles quarterfinals.

Squash

• Joshna Chinappa and Velavan Senthilkumar defeated the Philippines’ David Pelino and Jemyca Aribado in the mixed doubles quarterfinals to assure India of a medal.
• Anahat Singh defeated Tanvi Khanna 3-0 in the women’s singles quarterfinals to reach the semifinals.
• Abhay Singh beat Japan’s Ryunosuke Tsukue 3-0 in the men’s singles quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals.
• Veer Chotrani lost 1-3 to Pakistan’s Muhammad Irfan in the men’s singles quarterfinals.

Badminton

• Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto defeated Maldives’ Aminath Abdul Razzaq and Nibal Ahmed in the mixed doubles first round.
• Unnati Hooda began her women’s singles campaign with a 21-9, 21-10 win over North Korea’s Yu Mi Song.
• Satwik-Chirag suffered a first-round defeat to Thailand’s Pakkapon Teeraratsakul and Peeratchai Sukphun and crashed out of the Asian Games.
• Tanisha Crasto and Dhruv Kapila defeated Malaysia’s Soon Huat Goh and Jemie Shevon Lai 22-20, 24-22.

Canoe Sprint

• Prohit Baroi and Prasanna Kumar finished fifth in Semifinal 1 of the men’s kayak double 500m event and advanced to Final B.
• Megha Pradeep and Neha Leichonbam finished fourth in Semifinal 1 of the women’s canoe double 500m event and were eliminated.

Kabaddi

• India’s women’s team defeated Nepal 48-24 in the semifinal to reach the final and assure itself of at least a silver medal.
• India’s men’s team dominated Thailand 66-27, controlling the match from start to finish.

Fencing

• Aditya, Hemash Singh, Tejas Patil and Sachin lost to Hong Kong in the men’s team foil round of 16.
• Anupriya, Mitva Chaudhari, Tanishka Khatri and Yashkeerat Kaur lost to Uzbekistan in the women’s epee team round of 16.

Hockey

• India defeated Japan 3-1 in the women’s Pool B match.

Swimming

• Rishabh Das finished fourth and Utkarsh Patil ninth overall in the men’s 200m backstroke heats, with both progressing to the final.
• Dhanush Suresh finished seventh in his heat and 21st overall in the men’s 50m breaststroke and missed out on the final.
• Aneesh Sunil finished 17th and Dhakshan Shashikumar 18th in the men’s 400m freestyle heats, ending their campaigns in the event.
• Sajan Prakash finished third in Heat 3 of the men’s 200m butterfly and qualified for the final.

Athletics

• Anamika Aneesh finished sixth and Pooja 10th in the women’s heptathlon long jump. They stood seventh and ninth, respectively, in the overall standings.
