Asian Games 2026 Day 10: Esha Singh Wins Silver, Lovlina Assures Medal; India Men Reach Cricket Semis

Esha Singh narrowly missed out on gold in the women’s 25m pistol individual final after losing the shoot-off for the top spot. The 21-year-old settled for silver, adding another shooting medal to India’s tally at the Asian Games.

Pincky Balhara also secured a medal for India on Monday, winning bronze in the women’s -78kg kurash event. Balhara lost to South Korea’s Mo Sumin in the semifinal after earlier defeating Lim Garam in the quarterfinal.

In boxing, Lovlina Borgohain assured India of another medal after defeating South Korea’s Seong Suyeon in the women’s 75kg quarterfinal to book her place in the semifinals.

However, Day 10 began on a disappointing note for India as Manu Bhaker failed to qualify for the women’s 25m pistol individual final. Bhaker, who became the first Indian to win two medals at a single edition of the Olympics, finished outside the qualification spots. The Indian team of Bhaker, Esha Singh and Rahi Sarnobat also finished fifth in the 25m pistol team event.

India’s men’s cricket team also advanced to the semifinals after their match against Afghanistan was abandoned due to rain. Shreyas Iyer’s side progressed on the basis of its higher ICC ranking.

• Lovlina Borgohain defeated Seong Suyeon of South Korea in the women’s 75kg quarterfinal to assure India of a medal.

Kurash

• Pincky Balhara defeated Lim Garam of South Korea in the women’s -78kg quarterfinal to secure a medal.
• Balhara lost to Mo Sumin of South Korea in the semifinal and won bronze.

Cricket

• India advanced to the men’s semifinals after the match against Afghanistan was abandoned due to rain.

• Chikitha Taniparthi defeated Chen Yi-Hsuan of Chinese Taipei in the women’s compound individual round of 16.
• Jyothi Surekha Vennam lost to South Korea’s Kang Yeonseo in the women’s compound individual round of 16.
• Thirumuru Ganesh Mani Ratnam defeated Sahil Jadhav in the men’s compound individual round of 16.
