Asian Games 2026 Day 4: PV Sindhu-Starrer India Women’s Badminton Team Misses Medal, Shooting Disappoints

India endured a mixed day at the Asian Games 2026 on Day 4, with the women’s badminton team, featuring PV Sindhu, missing out on a medal while the shooting contingent also failed to add to the country’s tally.

The Indian women’s badminton team entered the competition with expectations of a strong showing, with two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu among the key players. However, the team’s campaign ended without a medal.

The disappointment continued in shooting, where Indian competitors were unable to convert their opportunities into podium finishes.

India had made a promising start to the Asian Games, collecting six medals in the opening three days, including four on Day 3. The performances on Day 4, however, highlighted the intense competition across disciplines.

Indian athletes remained in action in several other sports, including fencing, boxing, karate, wushu, badminton and equestrian.

The day also featured major team events, with India’s women’s cricket team taking on Sri Lanka in the final and the men’s hockey team facing Sri Lanka.

With several events still to come, India will look to bounce back from the setbacks in badminton and shooting and add more medals to its tally in the remaining days of the Asian Games.
