A Lucknow-Delhi IndiGo flight carrying around 180 passengers was delayed on Friday after a bomb threat prompted an immediate security response ahead of its scheduled departure.

The threat was later found to be a hoax, but the aircraft remained grounded while security agencies completed mandatory safety checks and clearance procedures.

According to news agency PTI, the flight was scheduled to depart from Lucknow for Delhi at 10.45 am.

Airport authorities were alerted after the crew received information about a possible bomb threat on board shortly before takeoff. As a precaution, the aircraft was held at the apron and prevented from proceeding for departure while security personnel carried out a thorough inspection.

Officials later confirmed that no explosive device or suspicious object was found, and the threat was deemed false. However, standard security protocols required a comprehensive examination of the aircraft before it could be cleared for operations.

The incident caused a delay for passengers as authorities prioritised safety measures and verification procedures.
