Shah Rukh Khan wins hearts with witty reply to fan’s love confession in Mangaluru event

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan once again showcased his trademark humour when a fan’s unexpected love confession turned into one of the most entertaining moments of an event in Mangaluru, Karnataka.

During the event on Thursday, a female fan told the actor that she loved him more than her own husband. SRK instantly responded with his signature wit, joking, “You should have told me that in private,” leaving the audience laughing.

Shah Rukh attended an event hosted by a real estate group in Mangaluru, where he performed on some of his popular songs and interacted with fans.

A video from the event circulating on social media shows a fan expressing her affection for the superstar. Reacting to her statement, Shah Rukh smiled, laughed and said, “Yeh sab akele mein batana chahiye na (You should have told this to me in private).”

The actor then turned the moment more heartfelt, saying, “I know it is a matter of speech and I understand your feelings, and I am sure your husband does too. I love you all. I love your husband. I love your family. Thank you so much.”

The superstar also greeted the audience in Kannada with a “namaskara” and thanked the people of Mangaluru for their warm welcome.

“When I was coming here, I didn’t know what to expect. But the warmth, love, goodness and excitement, right from the airport to the drive down here, felt great,” he said.

Shah Rukh’s connection with Mangaluru

Although Shah Rukh Khan was born in New Delhi, he spent the first five years of his life in the coastal city, from 1965 to 1970, where he lived with his grandfather Ifthikar Ahmed.

What’s next for Shah Rukh Khan

On the work front, Shah Rukh is currently shooting for his upcoming action film King, which will mark the theatrical debut of his daughter Suhana Khan after her first appearance in The Archies.

The film reportedly follows a veteran hitman who protects a young girl and is said to draw inspiration from the 1994 classic Léon: The Professional.

Directed by Siddharth Anand and co-written by Sujoy Ghosh, the film features actors including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal and Jaideep Ahlawat.

The film is expected to release during Christmas 2026. Shah Rukh was last seen in a cameo appearance in his son Aryan Khan’s directorial debut series The Ba***ds of Bollywood.
