Sensex stuck in range, Nifty around 23,400; Novartis India jumps 14%

The Nifty50 and the Sensex were trading in a narrow range as traders assessed the oil price outlook amid persistent geopolitical tension.

As of 10:00 AM, the Sensex rose 44.77 points or 0.06 per cent to 74,809.00 and the Nifty50 was flat at 23,430.50.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Eternal, and Shriram Finance were the top losers in the Nifty50 index.

In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap were trading 0.36 per cent and 0.03 per cent lower, respectively.

Sector-wise, the Nifty PSU Bank outperformed with over 1 per cent gain, while the Nifty Auto declined the most.
