Sensex down 100 pts, Nifty below 24,200; PSU bank, FMCG, cement shares weigh

The Nifty50 and the Sensex erased gains as cement, FMCG, and PSU bank shares weighed.

As of 11:00 AM, the Sensex fell 205.21 points or 0.26 per cent to 77,267.73 and the Nifty50 was down 51.55 points or 0.21 per cent at 24,156.05.

In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap were trading 0.36 per cent and 0.31 per cent higher, respectively.

Sector-wise, the Nifty PSU Bank, the Nifty Oil and Gas, and Nifty FMCG underperformed, while the Nifty Private Bank, the Nifty COnsumer Durables, and the Nifty Pharma outperformed.
