Sensex breaks small range, rises 100 pts; Waaree Energies shares drop 6%

The Nifty50 and the Sensex declined as realty, bank, and financial shares weighed.

As of 12:00 PM, the Nifty50 was up 10.25 points or 0.04 per cent at 24,260.45, and the Sensex rose 22.21 points or 0.03 per cent to 77,676.81.

Wipro India, Tech Mahindra, and Oil and Natural Gas Corp were the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.

In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap were trading 0.35 per cent and 0.33 per cent down, respectively.

Sector-wise, the Nifty IT rose over 1 per cent and outperformed peers. The Nifty FMCG, the Nifty Pharma, and the Nifty Auto outperformed. The Nifty Realty declined the most.
