Samantha Ruth Prabhu Reveals Her Go-To Skincare Rituals: Moisturisers, Face Yoga, and a ‘No’ to Cold Plunges
In a recent interview with Vogue India, shared on Instagram on June 14, actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu offered a glimpse into her minimalist yet effective skincare routine—emphasizing the importance of hydration, inner well-being, and consistency.
Her Hydration Secret: Layers of Moisturiser
When it comes to keeping her skin hydrated and preventing moisture loss, Samantha is all about moisturisers. While she hasn’t tried slugging—a skincare technique that involves applying an occlusive layer like petroleum jelly over moisturiser to lock in hydration—she’s a firm believer in layering on moisturiser generously.
“I think the lathering on the moisturiser in the end, like lots and lots of moisturiser,” she said, describing it as her favourite step in her skincare routine.
Beauty from the Inside Out
Reflecting on how her perception of beauty has evolved, Samantha shared,
“I’ve learnt the hard way that beauty is as much about how you feel on the inside.”
This inner-out approach influences her skincare and wellness philosophy.
She also expressed a growing interest in face oils and face yoga, which she believes can help achieve a naturally sculpted and radiant look.
Cold Plunges? Not Her Thing
When quizzed about some trending beauty and wellness fads, Samantha admitted she’s not a fan of cold plunges—a method involving short-term immersion in cold water to reduce muscle inflammation.
“They’re not for women,” she quipped.
However, she’s open to trying mushroom coffee—a health drink that blends traditional coffee with medicinal mushroom extracts. As for snail mucin serums, she prefers “better products”, suggesting she leans toward cleaner or more effective alternatives.
