Salman Khan vs Prabhas’ Spirit: Eid 2027 release clash continues as makers deny postponement

The much-awaited Eid 2027 box-office clash between Salman Khan and Prabhas appears to be on, with the makers of Spirit denying reports that the film has been postponed to make way for Salman Khan’s upcoming project.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Spirit stars Prabhas, Triptii Dimri and Vivek Oberoi and is backed by T-Series chairman Bhushan Kumar. The film is currently scheduled to hit theatres on March 5, 2027 — the same date being targeted by Salman Khan and director Vamshi Paidipally for their upcoming untitled film.

Spirit release date unchanged

Reports this week suggested that Spirit would vacate its March 5 release date after Salman announced his return to the Eid release window in 2027.

However, a T-Series spokesperson has denied the reports, saying the Prabhas-starrer remains on schedule.

“We are very much on track with the release of Spirit. The film is slated to release on March 5, 2027, and there is absolutely no change to the announced release date,” the spokesperson told Zoom.

The makers had issued a similar clarification in May after speculation surfaced that the film could be postponed.

Spirit marks Prabhas’ first collaboration with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, whose last directorial was Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal.

The film’s first promotional glimpse came in the form of a “sound story” released on Prabhas’ birthday last year. Its first look was later unveiled on January 1, 2026, showing Prabhas in a gritty avatar with long hair and bruises, while Triptii Dimri appeared alongside him.

Salman Khan’s Eid 2027 film

Salman Khan’s upcoming film marks his first collaboration with director Vamshi Paidipally and is being produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations.

Currently known by the working title SVC63, the film also stars Nayanthara opposite Salman, marking their first pairing, while Abhimanyu Singh has a key role.

The project is targeting an Eid 2027 theatrical release, although its exact date has not yet been officially announced.

If both films retain their current plans, Salman Khan and Prabhas could be headed for a major box-office clash during the Eid 2027 holiday period.
