Salman Khan and Karisma Kapoor reunited for a nostalgic moment on Koffee With Karan, as the ninth and final season of Karan Johar’s popular chat show opened with the Bollywood superstar as its first guest. During the episode, Karisma recalled a memorable incident from the sets of their 2000 romantic comedy Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge, revealing that Salman once refused to shoot with her because of her outfit.

Karisma said the two actors often argued during the film’s shoot, despite sharing a close bond. Recalling one such incident, she said she had been excited about a particular outfit but Salman was unhappy with her choice.

“During Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge, the iconic outfit, I was very excited about my fashion, and I thought I was going to kill it, and he’s like, ‘What are you wearing? I will not give a shot with you looking like this,’” Karisma recalled.

The actress said she eventually had to complain to the film’s director, David Dhawan, because Salman was not allowing her to wear the outfit.

Why Was Salman Khan Unhappy With Karisma Kapoor’s Outfit?

When Karan Johar asked whether Salman had objected to the outfit because it was too revealing, Karisma agreed, saying it was “too open and too clingy”.

Salman, however, offered a different explanation. He said the outfit was too short and sheer, adding that he would repeatedly ask Karisma to adjust it before every take.

“I used to keep on asking her to get it down before every take. It was all sheer,” Salman said.

Karisma further described how protective Salman had been of her during the shoot, recalling that he would repeatedly ask her to change her clothes.

“He would say, ‘Go and change it, I don’t like this outfit.’ So we used to fight a lot,” she said.

The anecdote offered a glimpse into the camaraderie between the actors, who worked together in several successful Hindi films during the 1990s and early 2000s.
