Pune realtor murder case: Accused Chetan Chaudhary’s father claims son is being framed

A new twist has emerged in the murder case of Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal, with the father of accused Chetan Chaudhary claiming that his son has no role in the crime and has been falsely implicated.

Chetan, who is alleged to be the boyfriend of Siya Goyal, has been accused of helping her plan the murder of 25-year-old Agarwal.

Chetan’s father, Babulal Chaudhary, denied the allegations and told HT that his son was being targeted by “wealthy people”.

“Chetan told me that he was staying away from them at the fort. He is being framed. Siya and Chetan were good friends, and to save herself, she implicated my son,” he said.

However, in comments to news agency ANI, the father said the family was unaware of Siya and claimed they had never met her before.

“We have never seen the girl in question and know absolutely nothing about her. I only came to know her name yesterday,” he said.

He maintained that Chetan had no involvement in Agarwal’s death and denied claims that his son pushed the victim.

“He clearly told us he did not push the boy and was standing far away,” he said.

Chetan’s uncle Udayram Chaudhary also defended him, calling him “innocent” and alleging that the case was being portrayed one-sidedly on social media.

“Chetan is a sportsman and a straightforward person. There has never been any complaint against him,” he said, adding that the family was unaware of any relationship between Chetan and Siya.

Police claim over 2,000 calls between accused duo

As the investigation continues, police have claimed that Chetan and Siya exchanged more than 2,004 calls, averaging around 8-10 calls daily.

Dinesh Tayade, senior police inspector at Lonavla rural police station, told HT that communication between the two continued even after Agarwal’s death.

According to police, Ketan Agarwal, a real estate director from Gahunje in Pune, was allegedly pushed to his death from Lohagad Fort near Lonavala by his fiancée Siya and her alleged partner Chetan.

The case was initially treated as an accident, with authorities believing Agarwal had fallen into a gorge while taking photographs.

Police have said the accused duo confessed to the crime, though Agarwal’s father has alleged that this was the second attempt on his son’s life by Siya and Chetan.
