Oudtshoorn and De Rust tourism showcased at WTM Africa 2026 in Cape Town
Tourism stakeholders from Oudtshoorn and De Rust are showcasing the Klein Karoo’s unique offerings to a global audience at World Travel Market Africa 2026, which opened in Cape Town on April 13.
Held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, the three-day event has drawn over 6,000 international buyers, media, and tourism leaders, providing a major platform to promote regional destinations.
Tourism bodies from the Garden Route and Klein Karoo are jointly presenting key attractions, including Cango Caves, Safari Ostrich Farm, Cango Wildlife Ranch, De Zeekoe Guest Farm, and Surval Boutique Olive Estate.
Exhibiting from a 90m² stand, officials aim to position the Klein Karoo as a must-visit destination within South Africa’s broader tourism landscape. Widely regarded as Africa’s leading travel trade show, WTM Africa offers destinations a chance to connect directly with global tour operators and investors.
Other regional tourism bodies participating include Hessequa, Mossel Bay, George, Wilderness, Uniondale, Plett Tourism, and Visit Knysna.
During the opening day, James Vos, the city’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, Tourism and Investment, visited the stand and praised the collaborative efforts to market the region internationally.
Officials believe participation in WTM Africa will help drive increased travel interest, benefiting local businesses, accommodations, and attractions in the coming months.
