Mumbai rains: Red alert issued, train services suspended, 6 killed in chawl collapse | Top updates
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad, warning of extremely heavy rainfall, strong winds and worsening weather conditions through Monday. The alert will remain in force until 8:30 am on Tuesday.
The intensified monsoon has disrupted road and rail traffic, triggered landslides and claimed lives across Maharashtra.

- West Bengal: A red alert has been issued for South 24 Parganas and Purba Medinipur, while Jhargram, Paschim Medinipur and Howrah remain under an orange alert due to the likelihood of heavy rain.
