Kim Kardashian Turns to Fitness as Therapy: Weightlifting, Pilates, and the Workouts She Avoids

For Kim Kardashian, staying fit is more than just physical—it’s therapeutic. In a recent interview, the 44-year-old entrepreneur and reality star shared insights into her daily workout regimen, favorite routines, and the types of exercise she avoids.

A Passion for Weightlifting
Kim calls herself a “big weightlifter at heart.” “I do lots of weights,” she told Vogue, revealing that her workouts usually last around 90 minutes and combine strength training, stretching, and a touch of cardio. Her routine is tailored to maintain tone and balance, though back issues have prompted her to adjust certain exercises. “I have to do lower body to stay toned. I do a few days of upper body. I usually pick a body part, and we stick to that for the day,” she explained.

Pilates for Recovery and Flexibility
Alongside weightlifting, Pilates plays a key role in Kim’s weekly routine. “I love pilates, so I will incorporate that, and I love wearing our [Skims] pilates leggings,” she said. Beyond the apparel, Pilates helps her maintain back health. “I find that when I don’t incorporate pilates at least once a week, I can feel it in my back. I definitely need that lengthening and stretching.”

Exercises She Skips
Despite her rigorous fitness regimen, Kim steers clear of dance workouts. “Any dancing workout,” she admitted candidly. Hot yoga isn’t her favorite either. “Honestly, I know I should get into hot yoga, but I did it once, and I fell asleep. Just with the mood, and you lie down and close your eyes. I can fall asleep anywhere, so put me in a position to fall asleep, and I will,” she joked.

Outside her fitness routine, Kim is gearing up for the launch of her much-anticipated Skims collection in collaboration with Nike, blending her passion for wellness with her entrepreneurial ventures.
