Ketan Agrawal Murder Case: Siya’s Family Breaks Silence, Says ‘Guilty Should Be Pushed Off Same Fort, Even If It’s My Own Daughter’

Amid the ongoing investigation into the murder of Pune businessman Ketan Agrawal, the family of accused Siya Goyal has demanded strict punishment for anyone found guilty. Siya, who was reportedly set to marry Ketan in the coming months, is now an accused in the case.

Reacting to Ketan’s death, Siya’s father Pravin Goyal said he shared a close bond with Ketan and considered him like his own son. He described the incident as a tragedy that had devastated both families.

“What happened is a very tragic event. We still can’t believe it. They have lost their son, and their son was ours too,” he told news agency ANI.

“I had grown so attached to him that it felt like he was our own son. We lost such a loving, promising and good boy. We had so many dreams for the future. The wedding was supposed to take place in Udaipur,” he said.

Defending his daughter, Pravin said Siya had never shown unhappiness about the marriage.

“Siya never expressed her displeasure about the wedding. Ever since the match was finalised, she was happy. She always talked about Ketan. If Ketan’s parents had informed us even slightly that something was wrong, we would have spoken to them,” he added.

Demanding strict punishment for the guilty, he said, “Let the strictest possible punishment be given to the murderer. From the fort where Ketan fell, the accused, even if it is my own daughter, should be pushed down.”

Police claim a different story

Investigators have presented a different account of the events. Police allege that Siya was unwilling to continue with her engagement to Ketan despite wedding preparations moving forward.

According to officials, Ketan remained committed to the marriage even after learning about her concerns.

During questioning, police claim Siya said she was already in a relationship with Chetan Chaudhary and did not want to continue the engagement, but felt unable to end it due to family and social pressure.

Investigators believe this alleged relationship conflict became a key part of the case.

Siya’s mother also demands punishment

Siya’s mother told PTI that she was deeply shocked after hearing about Ketan’s death and said both families had suffered a huge loss.

“The grief I feel for Ketan is immense. Ketan was a very good boy. If someone is guilty, they should be punished strictly, even if that person is my own daughter,” she said.

She added that both families had high hopes for Siya and Ketan’s marriage and that there had been no visible issues between them.

“There were deep feelings and affection. The other family treated Siya with a lot of love, and we also had a very good relationship. Everything was going well, and preparations had been made, including Ketan’s birthday celebrations,” she said.

She claimed that if there had been problems between the couple, the families would have discussed them.

“Until now, for four months, everything was fine. Only after this incident are these allegations being made. Earlier, there were only good things said about her,” she told PTI.

Alleged murder plan at Lohagad Fort

Ketan, who belonged to a prominent Pune business family and worked in real estate, died on June 18 during a visit to Lohagad Fort. The incident was initially reported as an accidental fall.

Police now allege that the fall was staged and that Siya and Chetan planned the murder. According to investigators, Chetan reached the fort earlier and later followed the couple to a secluded location, where Ketan was allegedly pushed into a gorge.

Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill said digital evidence, location records and call details indicated possible planning rather than an accident.

Police have also cited alleged frequent communication between Siya and Chetan, including more than 2,000 calls over several months, along with internet searches that investigators claim were related to methods of committing murder.

Family raises doubts

Ketan’s father Vishal Agrawal said the family initially found it difficult to believe that anything suspicious had happened. However, he said certain inconsistencies after the incident led them to approach police.

Investigators later expanded the probe after examining CCTV footage and digital evidence, which they claim placed Chetan at the location.

Chetan’s father Babulal Chaudhary has denied the allegations, saying his son has been falsely implicated and had no involvement in the incident.

Both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary have been arrested and booked under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to murder and criminal conspiracy. They remain in custody as the investigation continues.
