Jim Carrey Marries Longtime Girlfriend Min Ah, Actor’s Spokesperson Confirms

Hollywood star Jim Carrey has married his longtime girlfriend, Min Ah, his spokesperson confirmed to PEOPLE on Wednesday, September 30.

The 64-year-old actor and Min Ah have largely kept their relationship private, making their public appearances together relatively rare. Their marriage comes around seven months after the couple was photographed together in France while attending the César Awards.

Jim Carrey’s Tribute To Min Ah

During the César Awards, Carrey spoke about Min Ah from the stage, referring to her as his “companion” during a speech delivered entirely in French.

He thanked his daughter, Jane, and grandson, Jackson, before expressing his affection for Min Ah.

Carrey also paid tribute to his late father, Percy Joseph Carrey, crediting him with teaching him the importance of love, generosity and laughter.

Carrey and Min Ah have reportedly been together for several years. In February 2022, photographs published by Just Jared showed the pair leaving a charity comedy show hosted by Judd Apatow at Largo in Los Angeles.

Jim Carrey Once Discussed Stepping Away From Hollywood

Carrey has generally kept details of his personal life private. While promoting Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in April 2022, he discussed the possibility of taking a break from acting and embracing a quieter lifestyle.

Asked whether he was serious about stepping away, Carrey said he was “being fairly serious.”

He explained that he might continue acting if an exceptionally meaningful project came along, but said he was otherwise taking a break.

Carrey also spoke about his enjoyment of painting, spending time with his family and focusing on his spiritual life.

“I really like my quiet life,” he said at the time, adding that he felt he had “enough.”

Jim Carrey’s Previous Marriages And Relationships

Before his relationship with Min Ah, Carrey dated his Kidding co-star Ginger Gonzaga. The pair made their first red-carpet appearance together in January 2019 at the Showtime Golden Globes Nominees Celebration in West Hollywood. They reportedly split later that year.

Carrey was previously married to Lauren Holly, his Dumb and Dumber co-star. The couple married in 1996 and divorced the following year.

His first marriage was to Melissa Womer, with whom he shares daughter Jane. They were married from 1987 to 1995.
