Miss India World 2024 Nikita Porwal has penned an emotional note reflecting on her journey at the recently concluded Miss World pageant, saying that while she initially thought returning home without the crown would be the hardest part, she soon realised she was wrong.

Nikita shared several pictures from her Miss World journey on Instagram on September 9, along with a heartfelt message thanking everyone who supported her throughout the competition.

Nikita Porwal’s Emotional Note

“I thought the hardest part would be coming home without the crown,” Nikita wrote. “But I was wrong. The hardest part was finding words big enough for all the love that came home with me.”

She said it took her a few days to respond because she needed time to process everything the journey had given her.

Nikita also thanked the Miss India Organisation for giving her the “honour of representing India at Miss World” and acknowledged the team that supported her throughout the competition.

“So much of what you saw on stage was possible because of everything that happened behind it,” she wrote, thanking her team for standing by her through “pressure, exhaustion, tears and laughter.”

“You became my home away from home, my constant and truly my world there,” she added.

‘I Came Back Stronger’

Nikita expressed gratitude to her mentors for every lesson, correction and conversation during her preparation.

“I may not have returned with the result we dreamed of, but I came back stronger, more independent and carrying lessons that will stay with me for life,” she wrote.

Nikita Porwal Thanks Her Fans

Addressing her fans, Nikita said she travelled to Miss World hoping to win a crown but ended up gaining something much bigger—a family she had never met.

“I went to Miss World hoping to earn a crown. Somewhere along the way, I earned a family I had never even met,” she wrote.

She also spoke about the global pageant community and the supporters who cheered for her online.

“You don’t know who is making that edit at 2 AM, who is writing that long message, who is fighting for you in a comment section, who is refreshing a page waiting for an update… But somehow, you know their hearts,” she said.

‘I Wish I Could Have Brought the Crown Home’

Nikita said representing India was itself a deeply meaningful experience.

“And then there was the privilege of being called INDIA. For those weeks, my name almost disappeared. Every time someone called out ‘India!’, something inside me stood taller,” she wrote.

“Of course, I wish I could have brought the crown home. I wanted it deeply. I worked for it deeply.”

Despite not winning the title, Nikita said she returned with growth, memories, friendships, love and a new version of herself.

“And some victories do not sit on your head. They stay in your heart forever,” she concluded.
