HDFC Bank, Eternal lead 100pt gain in Sensex; PI Ind, Page Ind top MidCap gainers

The Nifty50 and the Sensex rose as oil prices extended loss and global equities advanced.

As of 10:00 AM, the Sensex rose 106.77 points or 0.14 per cent to 74,965.76 and the Nifty50 was up 40.80 points or 0.17 per cent at 23,455.10.

Coal India, InterGlobe Aviation, and Adani Enterprises were the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.

In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap rose 0.28 per cent and 0.39 per cent, respectively.

In the sector-wise, the Nifty Realty rose the most while the Nifty IT declined the most.
