The marital tensions between actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja have taken another turn after Sunita claimed that she withdrew her divorce petition over the actor’s alleged plans to marry actor Komal Rani Swarnkar. Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, has dismissed the claim, saying there is no question of a second marriage and expressing hope that the couple can resolve their differences.

Govinda’s Manager Rejects Second Marriage Claim

Speaking to India Today, Shashi Sinha said he was surprised by Sunita’s statement and denied any plans for Govinda to marry again.

“I am hearing this from you. Aisa kuch nahi hai aur nahi hoga. Koi doosri shaadi nahi ho rahi,” he said, adding that Govinda and Sunita remain married.

Sinha said that if Govinda were actually planning a second marriage, he would have been the one to seek a divorce. He also said both Govinda and Sunita are mature adults and expressed hope that they would resolve their differences, particularly for the sake of their children.

What Did Sunita Ahuja Say?

During a phone conversation with Rakhi Sawant, Sunita claimed she withdrew her divorce case because Govinda and Komal were allegedly planning to marry.

“Maine kal divorce case wapas le liya kyunki woh shaadi karne ke plan me the woh log,” Sunita said, explaining her decision to withdraw the petition.

Why Did Govinda and Sunita’s Marital Dispute Escalate?

The controversy intensified after Govinda and Komal were spotted together at an airport. Following their appearance, Sunita made remarks about their relationship while speaking to paparazzi and referred to Govinda as Komal’s “sugar daddy”.

Govinda subsequently warned Sunita against making defamatory remarks about him and asked her to “stay in limits” while speaking to the paparazzi. He also alleged that a Bollywood group was backing her in an attempt to damage his reputation.

Govinda and Sunita’s Marriage

Govinda and Sunita married in 1987. Sunita filed for divorce in 2024, with the petition reportedly citing adultery, cruelty and desertion under Section 13 of the Hindu Marriage Act.

Following Govinda’s recent remarks, Sunita was seen leaving Mumbai’s Bandra Family Court on August 19 with their son Yashvardhan.

Sinha later confirmed that Sunita had withdrawn the divorce petition she filed around two years ago. Speaking to HT City, he said the legal proceedings had continued for nearly two years before Sunita submitted a withdrawal petition at the Bandra family court.

The couple’s representatives have expressed hope that the dispute can be resolved and that the family can move forward.
