Flatten Your Tummy and Build Six-Pack Abs with This Simple Exercise

If you’re dieting, exercising, and maintaining a calorie deficit but still struggling with a flabby belly, you may be doing your workouts wrong, according to fitness coach Zarina Manaenkova.

In a July 2024 Instagram post, Manaenkova addressed the problem of a “jelly belly,” explaining that traditional crunches may not deliver the desired results. Instead, she recommended a dynamic full-body movement to help tone the midsection and work toward six-pack abs.

The Exercise

The coach demonstrated a movement to be performed for one minute in three sets. Start on all fours, balancing on your palms and toes without letting your knees touch the ground. Then, move forward, backward, and sideways while lifting opposite arms and legs simultaneously. Repeat three times in each direction.

“Belly like a jelly? You are dieting, doing crunches, and your belly remains jelly. So, I’ll tell you something: crunches won’t help,” Manaenkova said in the video. “Move with me and turn your life around.”

Why Walking on All Fours Works

Known as quadrobics, this all-fours exercise has gained attention for its effectiveness. A September 2025 report by The Guardian highlighted that quadrobics improves coordination, balance, and strength while providing a full-body workout. The movement constantly engages the abdominals, obliques, and deep stabilisers, helping burn fat and tone the body efficiently.
