Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has responded strongly to renewed claims surrounding a kissing scene from the 2014 film Revolver Rani after her co-star Vir Das dismissed allegations that the scene left him injured.

Vir Das publicly rejected the viral claim and defended Kangana’s professionalism on the film’s set, calling the story “pure fiction”. He said Kangana was a professional actor and that the allegations were unfair.

Responding to his statement on X, Kangana thanked Vir for clarifying the matter and criticised the journalist who made the claims, calling the allegations bizarre and accusing the report of sensationalising the incident.

The controversy resurfaced after journalist Simi Chandoke discussed the scene during an appearance on Siddharth Kannan’s podcast. She claimed that Kangana continued the kissing scene after it had ended and alleged that Vir was injured during filming.

Vir Das denied the claims and said there were no issues during the shoot. He praised Kangana’s work ethic, while adding that the allegations were unfair towards her.

In Revolver Rani, Kangana played the role of a powerful political figure, while Vir Das portrayed Rohan Mehra, a Bollywood actor who becomes involved in her life. Directed by Sai Kabir Shrivastav, the film also featured Piyush Mishra, Zakir Hussain and Zeishan Quadri.

The film, made on a reported budget of around ₹22 crore, received mixed responses and earned around ₹13 crore worldwide at the box office.

Kangana was recently seen in Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, a film based on the story of nurse Geeta Madhav Gandhare, inspired by events during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
