CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke accuses BJP of pressuring Delhi venues to cancel party events

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Wednesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of pressuring banquet and hall owners in Delhi not to rent their venues for his party’s programmes.

Speaking to reporters, Dipke said a CJP volunteers’ meeting scheduled in Naraina was cancelled at the last minute after the venue allegedly revoked the booking due to pressure from the ruling party.

“We were scheduled to hold our volunteers’ meet in Delhi today. We were looking for a hall but no one agreed to rent out one to us. Everyone kept saying there was pressure from above and that they cannot give a hall to the CJP. At least 10 places refused to give us space,” Dipke said.

He claimed the organisers eventually managed to book a venue and had a receipt for the reservation, but were denied access when they arrived.

“It was after a lot of difficulty that we managed to get a hall. We also have a receipt of the booking. But the people who gave us the hall were also threatened,” he alleged.

Dipke accused the BJP of attempting to prevent the CJP from holding meetings and said such efforts would not deter the party.

“The people are being threatened in this manner. Efforts are being made to prevent us from holding such meetings. All this is being done by the BJP,” he alleged, adding that the move showed the ruling party was “afraid of the country’s youth”.

The allegations came hours after Dipke announced plans for a fresh protest in Delhi, which he described as “Season 2 of Jantar-Mantar”, referring to the student protests held at Jantar Mantar last month.

“Many people were commenting on Instagram when Season 2 of ‘Jantar-Mantar’ will begin. I want to tell them that Season 2 of ‘Jantar-Mantar’ is going to start very soon,” he said.

Dipke had led the earlier protest, which continued for 36 days and attracted significant support. The agitation also preceded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The latest development comes days after the CJP announced its national team, with Dipke appointed as national convener, as the party moves to expand its organisational structure across the country.
