CBSE opens Class 12 re-evaluation and marks verification portal following repeated delays

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has finally opened the portal for verification of marks and re-evaluation of Class 12 board examination results after a series of delays that left students waiting for access.

In a post on X, CBSE advised students to watch the instructional video available on the portal before submitting their applications. The board has also provided detailed guidelines explaining the process for seeking verification of marks and re-evaluation.

The board had earlier announced that the re-evaluation portal for Class 12 students would go live on June 1. Eligible candidates can now apply through the official CBSE website.

The portal was originally scheduled to open on May 29 for students who had obtained scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets. However, CBSE postponed the launch to June 1, citing the need for additional time to ensure a transparent and error-free process.

Students were allowed to request scanned copies of their answer books between May 19 and May 25. While the copies began being released after May 26, the verification and re-evaluation portal remained unavailable until now.

Under the revised process, candidates who have received scanned copies of their answer sheets can raise question-specific objections if they believe marks were incorrectly awarded, omitted, or not properly assessed. Such requests will be reviewed by subject experts through the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system, according to an Education Ministry official.

Applicants seeking verification of marks must pay ₹500 per answer book, while re-evaluation requests will cost ₹100 per question.

CBSE is expected to keep the verification and re-evaluation window open for at least two days after the final scanned and evaluated answer book is made available to students. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website for updates on the application process, deadlines and related announcements.
