Cannes 2026: Tara Sutaria brings old-Hollywood glamour to Women in Cinema gala
Actor Tara Sutaria attended the Red Sea Film Foundation’s Women in Cinema gala dinner at the Cannes Film Festival on May 14, where she was honoured for her contribution to cinema.
For the gala, Tara opted for an all-white couture look, wearing an ivory satin gown by Vivienne Westwood featuring a sculpted corset, off-shoulder neckline and flowing silhouette. She paired the ensemble with diamond-and-emerald jewellery, a sleek bun and soft glam make-up.
In a post on X, the Red Sea Film Foundation said the event celebrates talent from the Arab world, Africa and Asia. Announcing Tara’s inclusion, the foundation described her artistic journey as a blend of music, theatre and cinema, highlighting her background as a classically trained vocalist and ballerina who has performed across India, Bhutan and Japan.
“This foundation became the soul of her on-screen presence as she rose to prominence with Student of the Year 2, followed by an almost decade-long career in Indian cinema,” the foundation wrote.
The gala appearance followed Tara’s first Cannes 2026 outing, where she wore a black-and-white gown by Helsa with a structured sweetheart neckline and flowing silhouette, styled with soft waves and statement earrings.
Sharing photos from the French Riviera, Tara said she was “thrilled” to attend Cannes and be honoured at the Women in Cinema Gala, teasing that “Tomorrow eve is a big moment!”
For her second red carpet appearance at the 79th edition of Cannes, Tara embraced a dramatic all-black look by Romania-based label Rhea Costa, pairing sculpted opera-glove styling with vintage femme-fatale aesthetics.
Tara’s Cannes appearance comes amid rising anticipation for her upcoming film Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas and headlined by Yash.
