Anne Hathaway shuts down pregnancy trolls with witty ‘Fake hair, real bump’ response

Anne Hathaway stole the spotlight at Sunday’s premiere of The End of Oak Street, proudly showing off her baby bump in a striking halter top and low-rise jeans. While her glamorous look drew plenty of attention, some social media users questioned whether her pregnancy was “fake”.

The actor has now hit back at the trolls with a cheeky response.

Hathaway shared a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram showing her getting ready for the outdoor premiere. The footage captured her makeup and hair preparations as her team worked around the event’s hot, 95-degree summer conditions.

As a stylist styled her brunette hair into a voluminous ponytail, Hathaway joked, “It’s not my hair.”

She then revealed her final outfit: a custom Atelier Prabal Gurung sculptural high-low halter top with a cascading train in celestial blue and vivid crimson silk Mikado, paired with La Ligne jeans. Her stylist Erin Walsh described the look as bringing “supernova mama energy.”

Taking aim at the pregnancy rumours, Hathaway captioned the video: “Fake hair, real bump.”

Anne Hathaway expecting third child

Hathaway, 43, is expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman. The couple already have two sons, Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6.

Speaking about her pregnancy during the New York premiere of The Odyssey, Hathaway said she was pleasantly surprised to discover she was expecting again at 43.

“There’s always hope until there’s not,” she said, explaining that she had realistic expectations about becoming pregnant again at her age.

The actor added that she and Shulman were “overjoyed” because they understood from personal experience that not everyone gets the opportunity to have another child.

Hathaway has also embraced maternity fashion during her pregnancy, describing it as “really, really fun”. She said she was enjoying showing off her baby bump because “it doesn’t last forever”.

Hathaway was most recently seen in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which also stars Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson and Jon Bernthal.

She has two more projects in the pipeline: the erotic thriller Verity and the war drama Alone at Dawn.
