Mumbai Police have uncovered an alleged financial trail linking a State Bank of India (SBI) account to the arrangements made for the accused involved in the October 18 firing incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff. Investigators allege that Rs 30,000 was transferred through the account to fund the purchase of a motorcycle used for the getaway and accommodation at a lodge where some of the accused stayed.

The latest development comes with the arrest of Suneha Pandit, the sister-in-law of Anil Pandit, an alleged leader of an organised crime syndicate and one of the main accused in the case. Her arrest is the 13th in the investigation.

According to police, the SBI account was registered in the name of Abhishek, Anil Pandit’s brother, but was linked to Suneha’s mobile number. Investigators suspect that the account was used to channel funds to those involved in arranging logistical support for the shooting.

Rs 30,000 allegedly used for motorcycle and accommodation

Police told the court that Rs 30,000 was transferred from the SBI account to an accused identified as Hrithik Kumar, alias Roshan. The money was allegedly used to purchase a motorcycle for the getaway and pay for a lodge where some of the accused stayed.

Investigators believe the transaction formed part of a wider financial arrangement supporting the alleged conspiracy behind the attack.

Special Public Prosecutor Sunil Gonsalves told the court that the account was connected to a cryptocurrency wallet allegedly operated by Abhishek. According to the prosecution, the wallet was linked to a Cambodian phone number and accessed using a virtual private network (VPN) configured in Denmark.

Police suspect that funds held in the cryptocurrency wallet were proceeds of extortion and were subsequently transferred into the domestic SBI account.

The account was allegedly used by arrested accused to arrange expenses through a linked QR code and Unified Payments Interface (UPI) identification.

Police trace transactions worth over Rs 47 lakh

Investigators told the court that more than Rs 47.26 lakh had passed through the SBI account between August 2022 and October 2026.

The prosecution also pointed to transactions involving other arrested accused, including payments made on the day of the firing incident.

Police alleged that Suneha was aware of the purpose for which the account was being used, despite having no independent source of income. Her custodial interrogation, investigators said, was necessary to establish the financial connections and gather information about the whereabouts of absconding suspects.

A special court sent Suneha to police custody until November 16, observing that her interrogation was required to investigate the financial trail and determine the roles of other accused.

Defence disputes police allegations

Suneha’s lawyer, Ajinkya Mirgal, opposed the police custody request, arguing that the SBI account was a family account and that its transactions could not automatically be linked to criminal activity.

He also questioned the basis of her arrest, alleging that she had been detained primarily to obtain a confession.

The defence further argued that police had previously claimed the account was being operated through individuals based overseas, making it inappropriate to attribute its operation directly to Suneha.

The court, however, allowed the police to interrogate her as part of the ongoing investigation.

Tiger Shroff firing left driver and vlogger injured

The firing took place on October 18, when two men allegedly opened fire at Tiger Shroff’s car.

The actor suffered minor injuries from broken glass, while his driver and a vlogger who was filming him sustained bullet injuries.

Suneha was arrested in Karnal, Haryana, and subsequently brought to Mumbai on transit remand.

The remaining 12 accused were also in police custody until November 6, as investigators continued examining the alleged conspiracy, financial transactions and logistical arrangements behind the attack.

The latest findings have brought the alleged financial network into focus, with Mumbai Police investigating how funds were transferred and used to support the accused before and during the shooting incident.
