Aamir Khan confirms July 5 wedding with Gauri Spratt, says ceremony will be a private affair

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has confirmed that he will marry his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, on July 5 in an intimate ceremony attended only by close family members and a handful of friends.

Speaking to the media during the screening of Rajkumar Hirani’s Pritam and Pedro, the actor said the wedding would be a simple celebration at home.

“Yes, I’m getting married on July 5. It’s going to be a very intimate wedding, and we’re having it at home. July 5 is a very special day for us. It will be a small ceremony with just our families and a few close friends. We’re keeping it simple and celebrating at home. We would love to have everyone’s blessings,” Aamir said.

He added that only immediate family members and a few childhood friends would be present.

“Please give us your blessings and pray that we stay happy and have a wonderful journey together. It’s going to be a very small, intimate affair at home, with only our families and a few old friends from our childhood in attendance,” he said.

Aamir Khan’s third marriage

The wedding will mark Aamir Khan’s third marriage.

The actor first married Reena Dutta in 1986. The couple have two children, Junaid Khan and Ira Khan, before separating in 2002.

He later married filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2005. After 16 years of marriage, the couple announced their separation in 2021 and have continued to co-parent their son, Azad Rao Khan.

A love story decades in the making

Aamir and Gauri Spratt first met around 25 years ago but eventually lost touch. They later reconnected, and their friendship gradually developed into a relationship.

The actor publicly introduced Gauri as his partner during his 60th birthday celebrations earlier this year. Gauri, who is also the mother of a young son, has largely stayed away from the limelight despite making a few public appearances with Aamir.

In a recent interview with Navbharat Times, Aamir spoke warmly about their relationship.

“I am very fortunate that I met Gauri, and our relationship began. She is wonderful and I feel at peace with her. Although my relationships with Kiran Rao and Reena Dutta were also very deep, things didn’t work out. I feel very blessed that Gauri entered my life. We are very happy together. I finally feel complete,” he said.
