Don 3 Row Gets Comic Twist as Tanmay Bhat Takes Swipe at Ranveer Singh
Actor Ranveer Singh continues to find himself at the centre of discussions surrounding his reported exit from Don 3, with the controversy taking a humorous turn after comedian Tanmay Bhat appeared to reference the issue during a recent YouTube video.
The episode featured actor Varun Dhawan alongside comedians Rohan Joshi, Piyush Sharma and Zakir Khan. During a light-hearted conversation, Tanmay praised Varun’s professionalism and reliability before making a remark that many viewers interpreted as a subtle jab at Ranveer’s ongoing dispute over Don 3.
“Varun, anyone who has ever worked with you has always said that despite being a big Bollywood star, you’re still professional, committed, reliable. Which is incidentally exactly the kind of actor that Farhan Akhtar is looking for right now. I don’t know, maybe you should…,” Tanmay joked.
The comment triggered laughter from everyone present, including Varun. The comedians then continued the joke with playful references to the Don franchise, prompting further amusement among the panel.
The clip quickly gained traction online, with social media users debating whether Tanmay was indirectly questioning Ranveer’s professionalism or merely poking fun at the widely reported fallout between the actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar.
The controversy surrounding Don 3 intensified in recent months after reports emerged that Ranveer had exited the project despite being announced as the franchise’s new lead in 2023, succeeding Shah Rukh Khan, who headlined the earlier films.
The matter escalated further when the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) became involved following complaints from Farhan Akhtar and Excel Entertainment. The organisation initially issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer but later withdrew the action.
According to reports, tensions surfaced after Ranveer allegedly walked away from the project in late 2025 following the success of his film Dhurandhar. Farhan reportedly informed FWICE that the actor’s exit had caused financial losses estimated at ₹45 crore.
While neither side has publicly detailed the full nature of the disagreement, the Don 3 dispute continues to generate attention, with Tanmay’s latest joke adding a comic twist to one of Bollywood’s most talked-about controversies.
