Iran Executes Man Accused of Sharing Defense Information With US and Israel During War

Iran has executed a man accused of sending sensitive information to the United States and Israel during the war, according to the country’s judiciary-linked Mizan news agency. Authorities identified the individual as Mojtaba Kian and said he had been convicted on charges related to passing information to foreign adversaries.

According to the report, Kian was accused of transmitting data linked to Iran’s defense industry to what Iranian authorities described as “the enemy.” The judiciary did not immediately provide further details regarding the nature of the information allegedly shared or how it was obtained.

The execution comes amid heightened tensions and an intensified crackdown by Iranian authorities on alleged espionage and security-related activities during and after the conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. Iranian officials have in recent months announced multiple arrests and executions tied to accusations of cooperation with foreign intelligence services.

Human rights groups have previously raised concerns over Iran’s use of the death penalty in cases involving political and national security charges, particularly in instances where independent verification of allegations has been limited.
