Mirzapur the Movie Release Date Out: Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal Bring OTT’s Biggest Gang War to Big Screen

One of India’s earliest and most successful streaming franchises, Mirzapur, is set to conclude its journey on the big screen. The makers on Thursday announced that Mirzapur the Movie, which takes the story forward after Season 3, will release in theatres on September 4 this year.

Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment unveiled the film’s official poster, confirming the release date. The poster features a convoy of SUVs moving along a winding road, with the title and date displayed prominently. Sharing the poster on social media, the makers wrote, “Ab dekhiye bhaukaal bade parde par. Watch #MirzapurTheMovie releasing at your nearest theatres on 4th September.”

Star-Studded Cast Returns

Mirzapur the Movie brings back fan favourites Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya and Ali Fazal as Guddu Bhaiya. Divyenndu also returns as Munna Tripathi, despite his character’s death in the series.

The ensemble cast includes Ravi Kishan, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Dugal, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Harshita Gaur, Sushant Singh, Mohit Malik, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Sonal Chauhan, Pramod Pathak and Anangsha Biswas.

Vikrant Massey, who played Babloo Pandit in Season 1, will not be returning and has reportedly been replaced by Jitendra Kumar.

Production Details

The film has recently wrapped up shooting and is currently in post-production. Set in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur town, the franchise revolves around gang rivalries, vengeance, and the struggle for power, making it one of India’s most popular OTT series.

Mirzapur the Movie is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and presented by Excel Entertainment. It is directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna.
