Zelenskyy Says He Feels “Little Bit” of Pressure From Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Saturday that he felt “a little bit” of pressure following renewed calls from US President Donald Trump to accelerate peace negotiations, but stressed that any progress would require concessions from Russia as well.

Speaking during a panel discussion at the Munich Security Conference, Zelenskyy addressed US suggestions for swift elections, saying a temporary halt in hostilities would be essential. “Give us two months of ceasefire and we will go to elections,” he said.

“Give us a ceasefire. President Trump can do it: push Putin; make a ceasefire. Then our parliament will change the law and we will go to elections,” Zelenskyy added, linking the prospect of a vote to the establishment of a truce.
