Ayan Mukerji’s War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, has crossed the ₹300 crore mark globally, but the spy thriller is already showing signs of fatigue at the box office.

According to Sacnilk, the film collected ₹5.50 crore net in India on Wednesday (Day 7), taking its domestic total to ₹199 crore net (₹238 crore gross). This marks its lowest single-day collection so far, a steep fall from the ₹57.85 crore it made just five days earlier.

Overseas collections have also dipped, with War 2 grossing under $8 million (₹69 crore) in its first week. The worldwide tally now stands at ₹307 crore after seven days.

The film faces an uphill task ahead, needing a strong second weekend to recover its massive ₹400 crore production cost. Trade analysts point to its clash with Rajinikanth’s Coolie and lukewarm word of mouth as major reasons behind the slide.

Part of YRF’s Spy Universe, War 2 also stars Kiara Advani. Its post-credits scene teases Bobby Deol, who sets up the franchise’s next installment, Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, due for release this December.
