‘Want to Make You Pregnant’: Fresh Audio, Chat Leaks Add to Heat on Suspended Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil

Trouble has deepened for suspended Congress MLA from Palakkad, Rahul Mamkootathil, after new allegations of sexual misconduct emerged in the form of purported WhatsApp chats and an audio clip. Mamkootathil has denied the charges, saying he is cooperating with investigators and will pursue legal action.

The newly circulated material — whose authenticity remains unverified — includes an audio clip allegedly featuring Mamkootathil and a woman discussing her pregnancy. According to an IndiaToday.in report, the woman is heard describing health challenges in her first month of pregnancy, while the man, claimed to be Mamkootathil, responds curtly and asks her to visit a hospital.

Another screenshot circulating online, also unverified, purportedly shows messages attributed to him, including: “I want to make you pregnant, I need our child.”

Rahul Mamkootathil Responds

Speaking to reporters in Palakkad on Monday, Mamkootathil said he has been “fully cooperating” with the investigation.

“An audio clip is being circulated in my name. If someone had asked me before releasing it, I could have clarified it,” he said, adding that he would take legal steps to defend himself.
“I stand here with complete confidence that I have never violated any law of this country… The investigation is underway.”

The latest clip is reportedly a continuation of an earlier audio recording that triggered a political storm and led to Mamkootathil’s suspension from Congress activities.

Background of the Case

The first set of allegations against Mamkootathil surfaced in August, when a Malayalam actress and a writer accused him of sexual misconduct. He later resigned as Youth Congress president following the controversy.

Congress Reacts

Senior Kerala Congress leader K Muraleedharan said responsibility now lies with the government and police.

“As far as the Congress party is concerned, he is not currently a member. If the government takes action, Congress will move to the next step,” he said, noting that no move has been made to readmit Mamkootathil into the party.
