Virat Kohli’s Instagram Restored After Overnight Outrage, Fans Rejoice: ‘Aa Gaya Bhai’
Virat Kohli fans can breathe easy — the former India captain’s Instagram account is back online after being inaccessible for several hours.
The profile, which has around 274 million followers, has been fully restored, with all 1,044 posts visible again. Fans can once more access Kohli’s old photos and videos, and everything appears to be back to normal. However, the reason behind the temporary disappearance of the 37-year-old’s account remains unclear, and no official statement has been issued.
Kohli’s sudden absence from Instagram sparked widespread speculation on X (formerly Twitter), where his name began trending within an hour. Many fans wondered whether the move signalled a possible retirement from international cricket.
Those fears were quickly put to rest after the account was restored at around 8:30 am on Friday. Kohli has not made any new posts since then.
It is also noteworthy that Kohli’s elder brother, Vikas, disappeared from Instagram around the same time. While Kohli’s profile has returned, Vikas’ account remains unavailable.
As news of Kohli’s return surfaced on Friday morning, fans expressed their relief and excitement on social media.
Kohli’s Recent Form
Kohli was most recently seen in action during India’s three-match ODI series against New Zealand, where he scored a century and a half-century, continuing his strong form in the 50-over format. In his last seven matches for India, he has registered three half-centuries and three centuries.
Following the series, Kohli travelled to London to spend time with his family. He is next expected to feature for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League.
After the IPL, Kohli is likely to play in the three-match ODI series against England in July 2026. Earlier this month, he briefly topped the ICC ODI rankings before being overtaken by Daryl Mitchell after his standout performances against India.
