Vikram Bhatt Booked in ₹30-Crore Fraud Case After Producer’s Complaint; Filmmaker Says ‘Police Is Being Misled’

Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt has been booked in Udaipur after an FIR was filed against him over an alleged fraud linked to a multi-film agreement. The case was registered at the Bhupalpura police station and is now under investigation, officials said.

Complainant Alleges Breach of Contract

According to ANI, Udaipur SP Yogesh Goyal confirmed that the complaint was filed by Dr. Ajay Murdia.

As per the FIR, Dr. Murdia had entered into an agreement with Bhatt’s production company to create several films and documentaries in memory of his late wife. He reportedly paid a substantial amount and signed a contract for four films.

However, the complaint alleges:

  • The production house failed to deliver the films as promised

  • Two films that were completed were not properly credited

  • The highest-budget project never began production

Police said an inquiry is underway and appropriate action will follow.

Vikram Bhatt Denies Allegations

Responding to the FIR, Bhatt strongly rejected the charges, claiming that the Rajasthan Police had been misled.

“I have neither received any letter nor notice. They claim I scammed ₹30 crore out of greed for ₹200 crore—if such claims were made, they should have documentation. Otherwise, the FIR is based on forged information,” he told ANI.

Bhatt also questioned why the complainant continued working with him if fraud had occurred:
“Why would they make a third film with me if I had fooled them? They did not pay my workers, and I have emails and contracts to prove everything.”
