In its advisory, the US Embassy urged citizens to:

US State Department: “Closely Monitoring Situation”

Expressing condolences to the victims, the US State Department’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs said on X:

The US Department of State’s Consular Affairs noted that while the cause of the explosion is still unknown, the Government of India has placed several states on high alert.

A State Department spokesperson also told PTI:

“We are aware of the explosion near Red Fort in Delhi. We are closely monitoring the situation and stand ready to provide consular assistance.”

UK Updates Travel Advisory

The UK government has updated its travel advisory for India, warning its citizens against all travel to certain areas due to heightened security risks.

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has:

  • Advised against all travel within 10 km of the India-Pakistan border, citing possible armed conflict.

  • Advised against all travel to Jammu and Kashmir, including Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Srinagar city, and the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway — except for air travel to and within Jammu city.

  • Warned against all but essential travel to Manipur, including Imphal, due to ongoing ethnic violence and curfews.

The advisory notes that violence in Manipur, which began in 2023, continues intermittently, with fresh incidents reported between May and July 2025.

Delhi Blast: What We Know So Far

Officials said the blast ripped through a slow-moving Hyundai i20 at a traffic signal near the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening. The explosion gutted several vehicles and occurred during rush hour when the area was crowded with commuters and tourists.

Over 25 people, including two women, were injured and rushed to LNJP Hospital.

A senior Delhi Police officer said the car had three occupants, and all possible angles — including a suicide bombing — are being investigated.

“We have not found any pellets or puncture wounds on the injured, which is unusual in such blasts. The cause and motive are under investigation,” the officer said.

Authorities have cordoned off the area and forensic teams are on-site to collect evidence.
