Two Gangsters Linked to Disha Patani Home Firing Killed in Ghaziabad Encounter
Two men involved in the recent firing outside actor Disha Patani’s residence in Bareilly were killed in an encounter with police in Ghaziabad on Wednesday, officials said.
The accused, identified as Ravindra alias Kullu and Arun, were members of the Goldy Brar–Rohit Godara gang, according to the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF).
A joint team of the STF’s Noida unit and Delhi Police intercepted the duo in Ghaziabad’s Tronica City. In the ensuing exchange of fire, both sustained serious injuries and later died in hospital. Police recovered a Glock pistol, a Zigana pistol, and a large cache of cartridges from the spot, said ADG (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash.
Bareilly firing incident
On September 12, two unidentified assailants opened fire outside Patani’s house around 3:30 am. A social media post later attributed to gangster Goldy Brar’s associates claimed responsibility, saying the attack was in retaliation for “insulting” remarks against spiritual figures Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Maharaj. The post warned of further violence before being deleted the next day.
Jagdish Singh Patani, the actor’s father and a retired deputy superintendent of police, said the attackers fired 10–15 rounds in quick succession. “At around 3 in the morning, I woke up to the sound of dogs barking. I saw the attackers firing at our house. The pistol they used was foreign-made. We were extremely scared and immediately informed the police,” he said.
Following the incident, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath assured the family of enhanced security measures.
