Several schools in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, received bomb threat emails on Monday, prompting security checks and campus evacuations, according to reports.

Citing the District Education Officer, ANI reported that multiple institutions were targeted by the emails, which allegedly contained threatening language. Authorities said search operations were launched across affected schools as a precautionary measure.

News agency PTI reported that more than 25 schools received the threat messages. Following standard safety protocols, school administrations alerted law enforcement agencies and evacuated students and staff.

Officials stated that no suspicious objects or materials had been discovered during the inspections so far.

Similar incidents in the past

The incident is not the first of its kind in Ahmedabad. In January 2026, several schools in the city received comparable bomb threat emails ahead of Republic Day, leading to investigations by the city’s crime branch.

Comparable threats have also been reported recently in New Delhi, where multiple schools received bomb threat emails earlier this week. Among the institutions mentioned were Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, The British School, and BT Tamil School.

Police officials said security procedures were immediately initiated in those cases as well, with subsequent searches yielding no credible threats.

Authorities continue to investigate the source of the Ahmedabad emails while urging the public to remain calm and rely on verified updates.
