Trump Pushes for Ukraine Peace Deal by August 8, US Tells UN

The United States on Thursday told the UN Security Council that President Donald Trump is pushing for a peace agreement to end Russia’s war in Ukraine by August 8.

“It is time to make a deal. Both Russia and Ukraine must negotiate a ceasefire and a durable peace,” senior U.S. diplomat John Kelley said during a session of the 15-member council. “President Trump has made clear this must be done by August 8. The United States is prepared to implement additional measures to secure peace.”
