Telangana Man Murdered Weeks After Wedding; Wife, Her Lover, and Six Others Arrested

37

A 32-year-old man was brutally murdered just weeks after his wedding in Telangana’s Jogulamba Gadwal district, in what police describe as a cold-blooded plot orchestrated by his wife and her lover. Authorities on Thursday announced the arrest of eight people, including the victim’s 23-year-old wife, Aishwarya, and her 35-year-old partner, Tirumala Rao.

The victim, Ganta Tejeshwar, a land surveyor and dance teacher from Rajaveedhinagar in Gadwal town, went missing on June 17. His family filed a missing person’s complaint the next day. CCTV footage later revealed him leaving in a car with acquaintances. On June 21, his body was discovered near Panyam town in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh.

A Chilling Murder Plot

Police say Aishwarya, despite being engaged to Tejeshwar in December 2024, continued her relationship with Tirumala Rao, a housing finance manager in Kurnool. Following her marriage to Tejeshwar on May 18, maintaining the affair became difficult. The couple then allegedly plotted to eliminate Tejeshwar and be together.

“Tirumala Rao approached a man named Kummari Nagesh and shared Tejeshwar’s contact details, asking him to befriend and eventually kill him,” said Superintendent of Police T Srinivasa Rao.

Nagesh and his associate were given a GPS tracker to secretly attach to Tejeshwar’s bike to monitor his movements. On June 17, they lured Tejeshwar to Kurnool on the pretext of a land survey. On the return trip, he was murdered inside the vehicle — bludgeoned, his throat slit, and stabbed multiple times.

Later, Rao arrived at the scene and instructed the killers to take an alternate route and dump the body near the HNSS canal in Kurnool. The accused then discarded Tejeshwar’s phone and belongings into the water and changed their clothes en route.

According to police, Rao paid ₹1 lakh as advance to the contract killers on the day of the murder and an additional ₹2 lakh on June 20.

Twisted Backstory: Lover Once Dated Victim’s Mother-in-Law

Investigations also revealed a bizarre backstory. Tirumala Rao was previously in a relationship with Sujata, Aishwarya’s mother, who worked as a sweeper at his office. Over time, he began an affair with Aishwarya and promised to marry her. However, her family reportedly pressured her into marrying Tejeshwar instead.

“Aishwarya wanted to eliminate Tejeshwar so she could be with Tirumala Rao,” said the SP. The couple had even planned to escape to Ladakh after the murder.

All eight accused are now in custody, and police say further investigation is ongoing.
